Little Mason has started teething! I know it's a looooong process before teeth start to show, but seeing all of this drool and his sad little face as he shoves his entire fist in his mouth is so sad!
I know Baby Orajel is now a no-no because of the benzocaine, but they have a Baby Orajel Naturals that has no benzocaine, no alcohol and no dyes. Has anyone used this? Anything else you recomend?? Or are teething toys the only thing to help my little guy?
I'm sure Mason will thank you for your advice!
Re: New mommy question: teething
After trying the Orajel once we never tried it again. Didn't even want to try the naturals one. For J, his favorites were his Sophie and we would take baby bottles fill them about 1/4 full and them turned them upside down in the freezer. Once they were frozen I would give them to him to bite on. He loved it. It also gave him some water as an added bonus
He's never been a huge fan of teething rings. Frozen hand towels worked well too.
Good luck. Teething seriously sucks.

we use hyland's teething gel (no benzocaine)...we have the sophie but evan doesnt really pay much attention to it. i've also given him frozen wash cloths but that turns into a wet mess in no time. i found this teether the other day while shopping at target: https://www.cookieskids.com/Product.aspx?l=00170061031501880000&p=PTY01332&a=shopping&mr:referralID=50393219-9bb6-11e0-be22-001b2166becc
he seems to chew on that teether better than the sophie. evan is actually cutting a tooth and it's making him crankier than ever, on days where i can tell it's really bothering him i give him a dose of tylenol to alleviate the pain a little (he's actually cutting a tooth not just drooling and eating his hand, just wanted to point out that difference). lately i've also been toasting a slice of bread and letting him chew on it (again, just want to clarify the age difference).
anyways, hth
