Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Jumperoo thoughts.

DD got a door jumper at my baby shower. She can touch the ground but the seat is huge so her mouth just barely comes up to the rim of the seat So she sits there and chews on the seat and eventually gets bored. She loves standing/sitting up. She has really good body and head control and can sit supported very well.

The big regular jumperooss look to be a little more comfy and entertaining. I've done some research and I think I want to try out the Fisher Price Rainforest or Khaki Sands.

Do you think that she would enjoy the regular bouncers more so than the door bouncer. Obviously it has more toys. Those things are just expensive and I don't want it to be a waste. Any experience?

  • We bought the Rainforest Jumperoo for Claire....she LOVES it. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned.

  • my daughter absolutely loved her jumperoo.  That being said it takes up tons of room...and I live in a house with not a ton of living space....so it does kind of drive me crazy.

I'm not too worried about space at our home. We have a breakfast nook that we don't use that's in between our living room and kitchen. It's turned into DD's play area. (She loves the huge window there) So she's got her own space for all of her stuff. But I've seen the things at Target. They are pretty big!

yeah my issue is that I have my toddler's kitchen and a million other toddler items, not to mention baby toys and the baby gym....I just gave up anyway so the rainforest jumperoo will be coming back in the upcoming days....you should see my house.  Everything is organized but I basically run a daycare :)

Yeah, mine is getting there. Especially DD's little area. Oh well. Comes with the territory I suppose! :-)

  • We have the FP jumperoo but it is the Laugh and Learn. It's a little different from the ones you mentioned. She lives it.

  • My DD has the Jumperoo in my siggy below and loves it. We also have the doorway jumper, and she loves that too!
  • We have both and I honestly think he gets more out of the door jumper.  In fact, he's been jumping nonstop for the last 30 minutes or so.  The big activity jumper takes up a lot of space and he ends up just standing in it and chewing on the toys, so when it comes to actual exercise, the door jumper gets way more action.

If you have the space and money I'd just get both.  The door jumper's only like $20 and very portable, so that comes in handy.  I got one so that I can move it around the house and take it with me upstairs when I need something to entertain him while I'm up there with my daughter/doing chores.

  • It really just depends on your LO, I think. Mine is not a huge fan of hers. She tolerates it for about 5-7 minutes at a time, then wants out.

Edit: I have the FP Rainforest Jumperoo

  • We have the rainforest one.  DS loves it jumps like crazy in it, as well as enjoying, the toys, music, and the view. He will play in it forever.  I usually have to take him out cause if it was up to him he would live in it. I found mine at a consignment shop for $40.

  • We have the Rainforest Jumperoo also and he loves it!!!

  • i was just wondering about one yesterday because Addy doesn't like being reclined and not able to reach the toys in her bouncy chair.  my main worry was that she was too small for a jumperoo because she'll be 4 months next week but she's barely 12lbs.  the girls on the march board recommended Fisher Price stuff too but we opted for the Baby Einstein music jumperoo because it had a higher back on the seat.  i actually took a bunch of pics and put it on my blog this morning (just click the button in my siggy).  it was $99.99 at BRU but i had a coupon for 20% off so we spent $79.99 in gift cards.  she instantly loved it!

  • Another vote for the Rainforest Jumperoo. It's only 65$ on Amazon.
