what are you stocking the changing table with?

I spent months picking out the right baskets for this changing table, then I spent all the money and bought the baskets, but now I'm wondering what I am supposed to put in them?

Diapers and wipes are kind of a given, but I have a lot of space to fill up... what do you plan on putting in your changing table baskets/drawers? (Or second time mommas, what DID you put in it/NEED in it?)

Re: what are you stocking the changing table with?

  • Maybe some little towels, lotions and creams....

maybe a feather to tickle the baby? lol... I'm not really sure either!

  • Loading the player...
  • Diapers, wipes, and other various diapering accessories on the middle shelf.  Probably bath stuff on the bottom shelf (towels, washcloths, etc.).  We don't have room in our tiny bathroom for her stuff, and we don't have a real linen closet.  Anyway, that's the plan for now, but we'll see if that works once we're all stocked up on baskets and stuff to put in them.  I may find that something else works better there!
  • diapers, wipes, butt paste, thermometer, hand sanitizer, lotion, spray stain remover, socks, hats, blankets, extra sheets, burp cloths, and probably all the plain white onsies.

  • Ours has diapers, Desitin, Vaseline, wipes, quick access to socks/onsies, small wash clothes (for those little boys), extra pacifier, Diaper genie refills....

    I think that's it.

  • In the bins on the shelves, we had/have socks (and now shoes), sheets, blankets, waterproof pads, changing pad covers, burp cloths, and extra packs of wipes. We have a diaper stacker for the diapers, which we still use at 17 months, believe it or not. On top of the changing table, I keep an opened pack of wipes, diaper cream, and a few wash cloths (which I used to prevent DS1 from peeing all over himself, me, and everything, though I haven't needed them much the past 6-9 months). We used to keep hand sanitizer there, too, but moved it once DS1 became mobile.

  • Vodka & olives. Just kidding. All the above listed sound like great options. Maybe have a bin with a few toys to keep him/her occupied? Or some pee pee tee pees for boys.

Hand sanitizer will more than likely be plentiful at my changing station as my husband is a real germ-o-phobe. Then maybe just use any extra bins you have for extra toys and books and stuff. May as well make use of them!

  • we keep things simple at our house: diapers, wipes, diaper cream for the changes that require it.  i don't do cream/powder at every change or anything like that, only when needed.  i actually don't even think you're supposed to use baby powder because it can go in their lungs?

  • Thanks for asking this! I haven't gotten this far but it sure helps when it's time to stock the changing table.
