10 lbs?!?!? You have to be kidding me!!!!

I just weighed myself. I have gained 10 lbs since I got pregnant. How did this happen?!?!? Guess i need to start hitting the gym again. Anyone else in the same boat? Now I am almost wishing I had experienced morning sickness! Damn.

  • I'm unfortunately in that boat with you:/. I didn't lose the weight from my last pregnancy before getting pregnant again so I'm kinda lumping all the weight in together which equals 10 lbs :(

  • I haven't been on the scale but it may not be good. I think I may be in the same boat as you. Healthy foods sure didn't sound good but I am starting to get my appetite back and energy as well.

  • Depending on the day, I'm up anywhere from 7-10lbs.  I've fallen back into my normal trap.  If I'm feeling nauseous I eat and then I feel better.  And what I eat may not always be the healthiest.

I've been working out (now that I'm back from vacation) 5 times a week.  I'm hoping to keep it right at the 7-10lbs for the 1st trimester.  There's no going back, but we can do better from here on out. Good luck.

  • I just thought of something for those who are in the same boat... How much of the weight gain is actually bigger boob weight?? I figure a pound per boob per cup size increase maybe? The thought of this just made me feel a little better.... :-) Still going to the gym tomorrow morning though...

We are definitely thinking along the same lines.  I'll go with that. And I'm still going to teach Zumba tomorrow. Smile

put your boobs, one at a time, on your scale at home :)

I haven't weighed myself in a week but it's been a week exactly tomorrow since I've been to the gym.  Working out has NOT been as easy as it was pre-preg.  It is painfully difficult!! And not nearly as much fun as it was pre-preg.

I'm about to go to bed but I want to hear more about this Zumba thing.  I saw a girl doing it on 16&preg today on the "where are they now" special.  It looked like fun!  And I know we're not really supposed to be taking up brand new workout things but since I've been sorta consistant about keeping active in my pregnancy so far I thought it might be a neat thing to do.

Can you get videos and do it in your own home?  Or does it have to be done in a classroom setting?  I'd love if you could give me something to read up on when I wake up tomorrow :):):)  TIA!

  • This may be obvious but....wait for it.....you're pregnant. You will gain weight. If you are disappointed in how fast you are gaining, try choosing different food items.
  • i've gained about 6 so far  im not sure how much is "normal" or okay. i can't stand the thought of eating meat or just about any other good and healthy meals. hopefully soon i'll be able to go back to eating healthy again!

  • I wish I knew,I was so obsessed with tracking my weight my Fiance took the battery out of my scale.  He say's it can't be good for me or the baby to freak out over every pound.  Meanwhile I would kill to know what i put on

  • Last time by 18 weeks I had gained 22 lbs, and I gained 60 total throughout the pregnancy.  The doctor never said anything, but I was miserable.  To be sure that doesn't happen again, I am tracking my weight on Weight Watchers.com.  I of course do not stick to the points, and am not trying to lose weight, but it has helped me with portion control and to make healthier choices.  So far I am just about 12 weeks and have gained about 4.5 lbs.  If you are truly concerned, start to pay better attention to what you eat, continue to exercise, and discuss it with your doctor at your next visit.

  • I have gained 7.5. I am only 9 weeks. oy.

It's starting to slow down. I lost a bit of weight at the beginning of the year. I am now at the weight I was when I got pg the other two times so part of me thinks my body just needed a bit more and that it will level out now. Guess we shall see. I hope to start walking more once the fatigue wears off. I am just too tired right now.

  • Also, this might be an overshare but it's hard to really know how much you truly weigh when you can't poop for a couple of days. That has to account for something! Stick out tongue

This is me too! I also agree that the constipation adds a couple pounds ;)

I have been doing a good job of working out, and will just try to eat better when the m/s lessens (hopefully soon!) I know gaining weight is part of the deal, but I still would love to be one of those cute ladies who is all belly. Unfortunately my butt doesn't agree with that plan.

  • "But your baby wants you to gain a whole mess of weight!"  (not so verbatim Knocked up reference LOL)

I feel your pain.  I always blame at least 1 lb of weight gain per boob.  I have a larger cup size to begin with, so I know it definitely counts for at least that much.

Just remember, you may hit a time period where you don't gain as much as fast and it'll probably all even out in the end.  It's just one of the first of many sacrifices you make as a mother.  Stick out tongue  First your body, then your mind...then your heart!

  • K, I feel better now. You're right, boob and constipation weight gain, and I will eat healthier food and work out more. :-)
