  • Ick.

Teachers used to give those out during lessons when I was in school... Get it? They thought it was sooooo cute.

    They taste like chalk.

  • Mmmmm, chalk.

Whatever, they are delicious, sugary candy goodness.  They MOST certainly are not candy coated chocolates.  That's just crazy talk.

  • Actually, now that you mention it RWF... I have heard and tasted the candy coated chocolates you mention, they do go by smarties, too. How strange, I completely forgot. I had them when we lived overseas, but I dont think I've ever seen them in the states. But I could be wrong...

  • They are like M&Ms but not nearly as good.  We have them in Canada.

This.  The best part is that they do not have any traces of peanuts in them, so Natalie can have them for a treat......unlike M&M's....it actually makes me sad.

  • Chocolate. Similar to M&Ms but better.

Yes, smarties are chocolate. Those other things are rockets, which are the crappy Halloween candy that is always the last to be eaten.

  • In Canada, smarties are delicious candy-covered chocolate. In the States, smarties are nasty chalky candy (that we call "rockets")

    Necco wafers = Ick!

    Smarties rock!

I used these to practice for my First Holy Communion. I don't think they are that bad.

  • It depends where you live; in Canada they are candy coated chocolates (like m&m's but way better)!!!!

They have started carrying them in some grocery stores in the states but you can only find them in the imported food section.

The photos above of 'smarties' are called Rockets here, though you only really see them around Halloween
