Success after IF

dropping bedtime bottle at 7.5 months

anyone's LO go down to 3 bottles before 8 months old?  for the last 2 nights in a row, LO refused to take her bedtime bottle, so she has 3 total for the day.

her pedi said a couple of weeks ago (when i called about a different issue) that as long as she was taking at least 18ozs of formula a day, he wasn't concerned.  we get that with the 3 bottles, but i'm worried that she is dropping her bedtime bottle already.

anyone else experience this?

Re: dropping bedtime bottle at 7.5 months

  • Anna refused (heck, still refuses) her bedtime bottle about half of the time? And, when she did take it, it was only a couple of ounces. I figured she just wasnt hungry. And she never woke up overnight or early because of hunger, so we went with it. But I always offered, just in case!

  • How much solids is she eating?  I kinda wish my guys would've dropped their bedtime bottle instead of their early AM bottle.

i think if she's getting 20ish ozes, plus eating well on solids, you are in the clear.

she gets at least 18 ozs every day.  yesterday, she had 19ozs and today she had 23ozs (and i'm including the formula that is mixed in with her cereal...which she has 2 times a day)...and she also has 3.5ozs of a fruit or veggie at lunch.

  • Sounds like you are doing just fine.  My boys were never big eaters - they maxed out on formula around 30ozes.

They've been taking around 20ozes ever since we introduced solids.  Sloooowly but surely, I've seen an uptick in their solids, but holding steady on 20ozes.  I try really hard to hold them at 20ozes and adjust their solids instead.

I'm at a complete loss with this no formula at 1 thing...How will I judge when they've had enough??!!!
