What clothes did you take to the hospital that you are glad you did? Anything you would recommend or wish you had brought? Just found out I'm having a c-section in the morning and want to make sure I'm bringing the right stuff!
I was happy that I brought my own pj pants, tanks and nursing bras. I almost said I was going to go bra-less and wear the hospital gown, but I am glad I changed my mind. After showering it was nice to have my own clothes.
I wore the gown almost the whole time I was there, because it was most comfortable. I didn't know I was having a c-section, so I had just packed some maternity pants & shirts. thank goodness I threw in a little maternity dress - I ended up wearing that home. But now that I'm home, I'm still wearing maternity pants, the full panel actually helps support my aching ab muscles. I put a thick pad over my incision so it is covered. GL with your c-section!
Pajama pants with a high rise. Low rise pants that land on the incision area were not good.
I didn't wear them at the hospital but I had Depends for at home. The bleeding wasn't so bad that I needed them for that, but the waist was nice and high. I kept a pad over my incision for a week (until the staples came out) and they held it in place perfectly. The mesh underwear they give you at the hospital work well too but I didn't want to ask for extras.
I just had an unexpected c/s, I wore the hospital gown until the day I left (today), was so sore and couldnt imagine trying to put on regular clothes. I just wore an oversized shirt and yoga pants for the trip home. They gave mesh undies and huge pads to wear, not pretty but served their purpose.
I wore a nursing night gown. It was true bliss. I didn't want to wear the hospital gown the whole time. It made me feel better to shower the next day and put on my own clothes (though I love the mesh panties they give you). I wore a maternity dress home. I was in pain and sore but I did the whole mind over matter thing. If you look sick you feel sick kind of thing.
I brought a nursing nightgown and tanks and also a robe. I was so glad I did. The tanks were helpful once I was off my IV. I just wore the tank and a robe during the day and after I showered. The nightgown was nice during the night for feedings and for when the nurses were checking on my incision. I would avoid any pants for the first few days.

I wore the gown the first day but the next day I took a shower and put on my nursing bra, a tee shirt and yoga pants. It felt amazing to wear my own clothes and be clean.
