I'm 38 weeks and this passed week I have been asked twice how much weight I've gained. I could not believe that people I had just met were willing to ask me that. I have already been feeling down because I feel huge, I didn't need someone else pretty much telling me that I am. Not only that but I also had a lady a few weeks ago say, "Wow...you are pregnant all over!" Here comes the real shocker, she was pregnant too! I was so offended. Why would you say that to somebody? I mean seriously its common knowledge you never ask a woman about her weight, pregnant or not. Sorry I just needed to vent, all these hormones are making me extra sensitve lately.
Re: Why are people so inconsiderate?
My former boss has asked me this every time she's seen me. Last time, she kept asking if I was sure that I wasn't having twins because I am, apparently, enormous.
Then again, she's also a b!tch.
People lose a filter around pregnant woman. With both DD and this baby I get the twins question all the time and people say there is no way I will make it until August. DD was 9 days late thanks very much.
YES people are inconsiderate!! Either you are to big for your pregnancy or too small. They tell me I am too small for being 35 weeks if I am sure the baby is healthy or better yet " I hope your not starving yourself you do realize you need to eat for two now" .
WTH!!!!!
I think this is why I hate being pregnant. My GM makes fat jokes at me all the time and so do some of the kitchen guys. Then I have people telling me I need to quit working, OK, you pay my bills....
People don't realize i can still kick their butts, and more legally too
Well I look far smaller than I lets say others at 30 weeks. That means I don't get asked how much did I gain, but am I gaining enough? You are aware your eating for two right? So I hope you are eating enough to give her all the nutrtion she needs. I find that inconsiderate.
same here. Just yesterday I got asked by some lady at work that I never talk to if I've gained weight. She was like: 'you're all belly" I said yes, I've gained the healthy amount of weight needed for my baby thanks! and even after I answered she still kept on about it. It's true people are so nosy and rude. Keep your mouth shut. I should have asked her how much she weights, but no of course that would be rude. People feel like bc we're pregnant they can say just about anything
