NBR: Late Wedding Gift

We got married on September 17, 2010.  DH's best man didn't give a "gift" per se, but he did travel from Buffalo and bought him a bunch of cigars.  So, today in the mail is a card from him explaining how honored he was to be part of our day and a check with a note saying "please excuse my lateness".

Send him another thank you card or a friendly phone call?

Re: NBR: Late Wedding Gift

  • I would give him a friendly call to tell him that he did not have to do it and that it is greatly appreciated. That was super awesome :)

  • I would call and write a formal thank you. That was really sweet and generous of him!

I'd do the same. A phone call isn't a substitute for a ty note but this is a good chance to call and keep in touch.

I would definitely send a TY note... and probably call as well

     Yes

  • We already sent a formal thank you after the wedding (for the cigars and traveling to NJ), but I think a phone call and a little card would be nice :-)

  • Agreed w/ PPs... a phone call isn't a substitute for the TY note but it's totally appropriate to call to further express your thanks in addition to the note... even if you sent one for his attendance at the wedding, there is another reason to thank him now.
  • Send another TY card for sure.
