freakin' mice! VENT!

Ugh!!!!  Last Monday I was cleaning my laundry room and I found a mouse (alive)...I caught it in a box (GROSS!) and DH brought it to the nearby park.  Next day, I find a small mouse on the floor of the laundry room (super GROSS!) and it seemed almost dead (not sure why? cat?) anyway threw it in the trash triple bagged.  I HATE mice.

So we set two traps before we left to go away for a long weekend.  They are the kind the mouse goes right inside so you don't see it once it's gets killed by the trap.  But the little door closes once the mouse goes in.  Um, so the door is closed on one of the traps today.  WTF?  I am not touching the trap.  DH can get rid of it when he gets home....AND go buy more traps.

Repeat I hate mice.  The end.

  • Um, I hate to tell you, but there are more than two mice in that house ;-)

One year we could hear them scratching and ruffling around in their nest, which ws EVIDENTLY IN THE WALL RIGHT BY OUR BED!!!  Davez poisoned the heck outta them (that was fun with a dog. not) and they took a year off. But every 1st frost we seem to see signs of them again. We usually just use the cheapie dollar store old fashioned traps and peanut butter.

    damn things. lol.

  • I hate them as well. We live in the country and one of my dogs will find one outside and kill it and bring it inside. Grosses me out!!! We have traps in the garage and that is the farthest they have gotten alive. I would freak if they actually got into the house.

  • crap!!! i was so hoping it was just an isolated incident :( i hate them too, and i just had that one that time, but it was WAY more then enough...we tried all kind of traps and the little bugger was too smart for all of them except the glue trap that got him eventually, which sucks, because it was a terrible way to die :*

i'm sure it was all from those neighbors, and hope it will end soon!!

  • Tracie...yeah, we had mice wayyy back when we first bought our house...then we renovated it big time and had no more issues (the windows in the basement were like a welcome mat for mice).  BUT our neighbours tore down a digusting, rotting old shed a couple of weeks ago and I would bet anything that Momma/babies came over here to relocate!  Um, no thank you!

I have no idea how she got in, and I know that they can squeeze through tiny little holes...so I will be getting out my magnifying glass and looking around the furnace room.  LOL

My MIL had mice come down the dryer vent to get into her house.  They didn't make it past the dryer (ew!!) but man they will try anything!

  • ugh, we have regular mice visitors too.  we buy have-a-heart traps and put cottonballs soaked in pure peppermint oil all over the area (they hate the smell) and seal all holes, no matter how small.  works for a while, but they always come back!
