**I think our restaurant days are going to be on hiatus**

So Dh met L & I  for an early lunch today...it was the most stressful hour- L would not sit in the high chair...so we got him a booster- which he sat in for 10 min but then he kept standing and sitting (like he was in church or something..LOL) and the rest of the lunch was us passing him back and forth between bites and trying to keep him from having a meltdown...

*sigh*

Dh kept saying he's "so bad..." I was like, "dude, he's 17 months...this is normal..." (this IS normal, right?)

    totally normal!

    I try and only take Evan to places where you get your food right away (Panera is our go-to!), so there is minimal sitting around waiting. Some days he's better than others. We went out to lunch when my FIL was in town last month and he was great. Our food took forever, and he didn't even try to get out. Last week my mom and I went out for dinner to Applebees, and he wanted to run around... despite the new books I brought, goldfish crackers, m&m's etc.

    Sounds like my kids.  They only place they sit is CiCi's and that is only for about 12 minutes when their bellies are full.  ( I timed them)  Tyler is just now getting better, when Bri isn't around anyway.

    Sometimes Tess is great and other times I just want to cry after we leave a restaurant.  We always try to go out at least 2 hours before naptime (so like 11:30) or around 5-5:30 so she is hungry but not too tired.

    Gavin hasn't sat in a high chair or booster in a LONG time.  We always request a booth and I just block him in.  I always take stuff to keep him busy, but I also order his meal when we order our drinks.  Then, if he finishes before we're finished, I order him a little dessert to keep him busy.

    Sounds typical to me.  My kids are good when we go out, but it is super infrequent.  Food allergies will keep us from enjoying eating out for life basically.
