I'm home from work today and J is being surprisingly quiet and playing happily on his own.
So he is definitely in the early teething phase. All the books/articles say that you will start to see the tooth bumps under the gums. Where exactly on the gums? On the front, the tips, or the back? LO has bumps in all sorts of random places in his mouth and I'm not sure what might be teeth and what is just lumpy gums.

I once read that the 1st tooth is always on the bottom, the center right
They'll be kind of in the middle of the gums. You'll be able to see the front of the gums swollen before teeth actually arrive:
(Sorry so big--I wanted you to be able to see his gum) If you look in the center of his gum, you'll see a glowing swollen area. This was about 2 weeks before the bottom two teeth came through.
