Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Is an activity table worth it?

My DD seems to be getting really bored with her toys - especially now that she's crawling.  I was looking at maybe getting the Fisher Price Musical Table or the Leap Frog one...But, I don't want to spend the $ if she's going to get bored with it right away.  She's loving pulling herself up right now, so I thought she might like the table.  WDYT?  Thanks!

Re: Is an activity table worth it?

  • 10000% worth it.  My DS is walking and still plays with his daily.  We have both the FP and LF table, and DS prefers the FP table.  They both keep his attention for long spans of time, and he absolutely loves playing with them.

Check wal-mart because they had the FP one for a decent price, maybe 30? It's definitely worth the money.

  • DD loves hers.  I just bought it second hand (I paid 15 bucks for it) and she spends a lot of time playing with it.  She still loves her sitting toys, but loves to walk around the table.  I would say that it's a good idea, but see if you can find a second hand one...that way if your DD gets bored with it, it's not the end of the World.
  • forgot to add, DS has never had a problem pulling up on his tables, either. They're very sturdy.
  • OMG!!  Yes, definitely worth it!!!

We bought DD the Leap Frog one when she was just over 6mo old and had started pulling up.  She still loves that thing!!!

  • I agree- absolutely worth it.  Someone gave us a Chicco one that has 2 sides that flip over- one for stacking leggo blocks and the other has a train and things to pull/push.  My son spends hours with it.  It was great when he was first learning to stand and even though he's starting to walk, it's still his favorite toy.

  • My oldest loved his. Unfortunatly it stopped working within 2 months. But he still played with it.
  • Thanks ladies!  I'll head out and pick up one after work!
  • My DS loves his too.  We have the leapfrog one.
  • We plan to get DS one for Christmas, there are some really thorough reviews on Amazon.

  • Yes, absolutely!

We bought the LeapFrog musical table when DD was eight months. Three months later, she still loves it! She's walking and still plays with it all the time.

  • Someone gave us their old LF one and DS LOVES it!!!!  He gets so excited to play with it.  Heaven forbid if we try to take him away from it, for whatever reason.

  • I bought the FP Activity table as a Christmas gift for my 7.5 month old who will be 9 months at Christmas. I couldn't decide between the LeapFrog and the FP since both had some decent reviews, so I chose FP. I am excited to see how he will like it at Christmastime.
  • MIL bought DS either the FP or LF one. I think he is going to love it.
  • I will say no, but my baby has no interest in any toys. He would rather pull himself up to the tv, the window, the couch etc. I wish he would stay in one spot and play with his toy but no dice!
  • my boys love their FP one. and i know all the songs now. not bad, really. :)
