DS has been wanting to nurse constantly lately,so much so that he's been overeating and spitting up a lot. Sometimes I try and distract him and do another activity but I feel like I can't even do anything else with him except nurse. If I hold him for 5 minutes, he's signaling me for more booby.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a 'growth spurt', but also a need for more closeness or going through a developmental leap that makes them want to be close to mommy because their world is getting bigger and more demanding ... as their senses develop and they're able to take more in (see, feel, touch, hear, etc.). The book 'The Wonder Weeks' helped me to understand that ... Or your LOs may also be thirstier thanks to the hot weather, I know mine is. My pediatrician told me it's ok to give them some water from a bottle from 3 months up.
