I want to use some of L and G's birthday money to buy new books, specifically a few for bedtime. We read the same few over and over (Pajama Time, I Love You, Good Night and Good Night, Baby).
Mine LOVE Eric Carle books. Particularly Brown Bear, Brown Bear. They could listen to it over and over again. THey also like any lift the flap books. We have an elmo one and a peek-a-baby one. Pat the Bunny is also a favorite.
I have no idea why my mac won't let me underline anything...hmmm
Mine loved Goodnight Gorilla at that age. And the "How do dinosaurs..." series (esp How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?) and nowadays, I read/sing "Snuggle Puppy" every night.
The girls really love the "lift the flap" books. Especially the touch and feel kind. We have a Peter Rabbit bed time book where you can lift the flaps- they love that.
The girls Great Uncle and Aunt gave them a counting book called 10 Tiny Puppies. They are OBSESSED. It's a board book- they love to turn the pages. Last week B was walking around the room going "pup pup, pup pup". I couldn't figure out what she was saying, and then she walked to her bookshelf and pulled it down and handed it to me!! MELT!! Anyway...the clung to that for some reason, so we always read it at bed time. The last page is a goodnight page, but that's the only bed time part of it!
I have and love Goodnight Moon- but not the board book style. I want to get that in a board book because they like to turn the pages as we read.
Mine love listening to the Llama Llama books by Dewdney the stories are cute and clever and fun for parents too. They also love the That's Not My Bear, That's Not My Dinosaur..., by Usborne books, those have touch and feel panels which is fun for interacting. Life and Flap are also fun, a favorite is Dear Zoo by Campbell.
