1) MIL wanted to see C push himself up on his elbows while on his tummy (to them, this is like watching a baby fly). So she puts him on the hard kitchen table. He screams obviously.
2) FIL grilled out yesterday while we were over. We sat down at the table to eat and he started cutting up his steak into tiny bits and mashing some potato up. H asked him what he was doing. His response was, "Well I'm getting C's dinner ready for him. He is eating that cereal stuff now, so it's okay for him to have this!".
Re: IL fails of the weekend
And they wonder why I have not yet left them alone with my child...
I actually feel bad that I just typed that. They have been trying really hard recently to be more involved and less annoying.
Niiiiiiiice.
My FIL asked yesterday why I hadn't mashed any potatoes up for DS. And SIL tried to feed him some of the filling from a lemon tart. Which he promptly spit out and made a face akin to "WTF are you thinking trick!?"

ETA: took out IL names, incase they are stalking me and because it made me feel mean
My inlaws now fear me. It's tough love, but it's the only way I can trust they won't do anything stupid with my kids. Because they have tried it all before.
It's kind of cute that he was thinking about your LO. I am glad you were able to set them straight, but it is a little bit funny.
