pillow/support for car seat

We are going to be taking 2 long car trips with O in the next couple of months.  The plan is to drive overnight so that he sleeps.  Do you know of a pillow-type thing for his car seat?  He is in his convertible car seat and he naps fine in it but sometimes his neck is so crooked and it has to get uncomfortable- especially if he is sleeping for a longer time.  Any ideas?

 TIA!

Re: pillow/support for car seat

  • We have the Eddie Bauer Monkey Neck Pillow for Jacob. He just started using it, when we switched him to the Alpha Omega (from the MyRide65, which Will now uses). Anyway, it works great for him; but I'm not sure if it might be too big for a 10 month old. What convertible car seat do you have? Any way to adjust the incline for the ride?

I have the Britax Marathon, and it's reclined as much as I can in my SUV.  He sleps fine but Ij ust feel like it owuld be more comfortable with extra side pillows, maybe? I saw some of the neck pillows, I tink he'd too young to grasp that concept yet though.  Thanks!

  • Is he too heavy for the pumpkin seat?  If not, can you switch him back to that just for the trip so he can comfortably sleep?  Just a thought Big Smile

  • We just dealt with this on our 13 hour ride to the Outer Banks. Asher's neck was crooked to the side a few times and I stuffed his blankie between his head and the side of the seat to kind of help hold it up.  I would just put it there once he fell asleepp and he wouldn't mess with it.  Wouldn't it be nice if the made an infant neck pillow... ?

Not a bad idea I suppose- his feet stick out the end but technically he's not over the weight limit....hmmm.  Thanks for the idea!

As long as his head is at least an inch below the end of the hard shell at the top, and he's under the weight limit, it doesn't matter about his feet :)
