Help!! I think I just lost mucus plug (possible TMI)...

I have posted a couple times on this board in the last week or so related to my experience with pre-term labor, etc. I've been home on modified bed rest for a week and on Procardia.  A few minutes ago I went to the bathroom and when I wiped I noticed that there was a lot of discharge and it was pink. So, I wiped again and there it was....it looked like snot with lines of blood mixed in. I've just called my doctor and I'm waiting for a call back.  My water hasn't broken and I'm not feeling any contractions at this moment so I'm not extremely worried, but maybe I should be?? Or maybe it's not a big deal?? Anyone with experience--please help!!

    That definitely sounds like how I've heard the mucous plug described. But losing it doesn't guarantee you're going into labor. It can regenerate. Glad you called your doctor. I hope you're going ok - let us know when you have a chance!

    Losing your mucus plug really isn't an indication that labor is beginning and it can grow back.

    I lost my mucus plug at 35 weeks with my first pregnancy and carried my baby two days past my due date.

    You did the right thing by calling your doctor.  Try to stay calm and wait for their phone call.  Good luck!

    That's what I'm hoping for...I'm not overly concerned but it's been a rough couple of weeks.
