I know you think I am crazy for sole BF this long. He has taken a few bottles in the past. But really just the breast. I have tried different kinds of bottles, tried letting DH feed him, tried letting my mom. NO LUCK. I have tried just BM and blending with formula. I never had this problem with DD, she didn't care how her food got to her as long as it came. My biggest problem is DH now works nights and DS nurses for 45 min at night.(yes 45 min) It is very hard to entertain my 2 year old while nursing. Anyone else been here? Somethings gotta give. At this rate I will be nursing him till he goes to college.
Re: 6 months and won't take a bottle HELP
It is very hard nursing when you have a toddler, isn't it? I usually find some cheap activities for DS to do while DD is nursing; paint with water books (hey, it dries fast), coloring books, play doh, reading stories, playing with the tag Jr, etc. Or I take my cover and we sit outside while DS runs around the yard.
Have you tried feeding LO solids for the night feeding, then just topping them off with BM? That should at least reduce the amount of eating time, and your toddler can "help" feed them. DS loves helping.
A sippy cup might work, or you can just keep trying the bottle. DS and DD have never taken a bottle from me, or from anyone else while I am in the house.
