Success after IF

So tonight, I saw how the other half lives...

The ones not paying out their a*s for infertility treatments. And it's nice...really nice. We went to a doc's party who lives a few houses down. Pool with waterfalls, fountains, pool house to die for, catering, full bar, and live band. Ugghhhh! What I would give for natural fertility. It was so much fun, though. Just tipsy enough to think we might make some magic tonight and not need that second opinion consult!  brownchickenbrowncow ;-)

  • Wowsa! I hope you had a magical evening ;)

  • Ha! Not that we could afford any of those things anyway, but I really would like to at least be able to fence in the backyard, lol.
  • Wow!  I doubt they saved that much money from being fertile!! LOL

Sh!t....we didn't spend that much on IF and we've done 4 IUI's, 3 IVFs and we're doing our 8th this month.  All OOP.  Yeah, the $$ we spent on treatments would have definitely helped with a down payment on a larger home but nothing like what you mentioned.  Don't feel too envious, they have cash some other way!  :)

As both a doctor and person who had insurance coverage for IF, I can assure you that we definitely CAN NOT afford what you described!  They must have money some other way and not have much student loan debt (unlike me!) :)

  • I don't know. Wife is a SAHM. Doc is a pulmonologist (one of very few in town) in a LCOL area. I think the specialty doc's here rake it in. Anyway, it was very impressive! And who knows, maybe they did have fertility issues back in the day, but they've recovered quite nicely from that expense if they did ;-)
  • Yeah, I don't think you visited any house in CA, because a house like what you describe has 6 zeros following a number higher than 3 in my here parts. And I can't think of anyone who spends enough money on IF treatment to make up the cost difference for that type of home.

    But I get what you're saying :)
