babysitter rates

what are the rates in our area?

The person I am probably going to hire is CPR certified and in her late 30's.  

How much do you think a good rate would be to take care of my almost 2 yr old and an infant by herself?

How much when I am with her and she is helping me (would it be the same rate)?

DD (8/12/09), DD (2/8/11)
BFP 12/16/14| EDD 8/19/15 |MMC 1/15/15 (9 weeks 1 day)

    THe sitter I use is in her early 20's and she teaches at DD's preschool. I pay her $12 / hour. I know it's a lot, but I have peace of mind because she's a teacher so she's CPR certified and I know that she knew my DD and knew how to handle things. SO it's totally worth it to me!

    I was hoping to find someone good for $12-15/hour.  Our current babysitter just gave notice and I had been paying her in that range for the past 3 years.

     

    I'm not sure how I would negotiate a difference for whether you are with her or not - I have wondered the same thing myself.
