OMG! I'm the worst mom EVER!

Last night I fed LO at 2 and put her in her swing and went back to sleep. I just now woke up at 6:45, she didn't wake me since I put her down at 2. This is not normal, but I had the baby monitor beside our bed, it's what woke me to fed her at 2, and I never heard her crying. Her nursery is right across the hall from our room, both doors were closed and we have two fans on in our room, but that doesn't completely drown out baby cries. Anyways I glance down at the monitor at 6:45 and it's completely lit up, but I can't hear anything! So I rush into her room. She has tears running down her face and her cries are hoarse! She must have been crying for quite some time to make her so hoarse! Usually when I pick her up she calms a bit. Nope still screaming her head off, as if to say, "OMG woman where have you been?!" I guess DH and I were in too deep a sleep to hear her. As for the monitor, maybe I accidentally turned it down when I got up to feed at 2, I usually turn it off so it doesn't wake DH, then turn it back on when I return to bed. I feel like the worst mom alive!

    Lesson learned! Poor thang! Sounds like shes okay now, so dont beat youself up. Maybe give her some extra extra attention today

    I have done that before. I know you must feel awful! Give her some extra snuggles today :-)

    I changed her diaper and fed her until she fell asleep on my chest. Usually I try to put her down when she falls asleep, but for now she can sleep on me. It makes me feel like she doesn't hate me. I know I'm not the only one to have ever done this, but it still makes me feel better that someone knows how I feel right now. Thanks ASB.

    That happened to me last night too! I put her in her crib around 12,then I turned the video monitor volume down because she grunts a lot and it keeps me awake, there were still 2 volume bars left but little did I know that means the sound is OFF! I woke up at 4am and the monitor was going nuts and when I got to her room she was crying her little eyes out. I felt so horrible. She stopped as soon as I picked her up and didn't sound hoarse so hopefully she didn't cry too long, but it broke my heart nonetheless.

    I have done that more then once. I hate it and always feel so bad, but thankfully little ones forgive and forget quickly. Sleep deprivation does that! It doesn't make the worst mom ever, promise! :)

    Unfortunately, you do remember and I understand why you feel so bad, but maybe she wasn't crying that long, you never know!

    It certainly doesn't make you the worst mom ever, don't be too hard on yourself!

    OMG, I am so sorry that happened. I know its hard to get over something like that, but she doesnt even remember it now, so try not to beat yourself up.
