PSA: GO SWIMMING!

lol Seriously.

I FINALLY made it to the pool. And it. Was. Amazing.

I really get why woman chose water births now! The weightlessness was so awesome, and the contractions {that I am still having} were hardly noticed at all. It was an afternoon of bliss after several days of misery!

I'll tell you what though, getting out I felt like I weighed 500lb's!

Seriously, if you're at the point where your pelvis and hips are screaming in pain, get your behind in a pool! You {or your hips, back and pelvis} will thank me. Wink

  • I started going a few weeks ago.  It is amazing!  When I don't go now, I really feel it.  My aches and pains come back.

  • I have been swimming 2-3 times a week and it is AMAZING! I enjoy it so much. I do agree with the "feeling like 500 lbs when you get out" though.

  • i'm going to the pool a few days a week starting monday. i've heard getting out of the water is not so cool but the time in is amazing. i've also heard it helps a lot with mild swelling too. seems like by the end of the day my feet are a little swollen now, so we'll see! can't wait!

  • Swimming is def my favorite way to exercise.  I absolutely love it.  Follow it up with some watermelon and I'm in heaven.

  • I don't know what I'm missing. I've been swimming a couple times and yea, it's nice, but it was the amazing experience so many pregnant women told me it'd be. Maybe it was over-hyped in my head?

Aw that stinks! I'm sorry. :( I wasn't going to go but my DH talked me into it. I'm really glad I went. Getting out was tough, but being weightless was great. I've had tremendous hip and pelvic issues that it seemed to really help. I hope you're able to get out there again soon and have a better, more relaxing and fulfilling experience!

I don't know if is just has to do with pregnancy, but the fact that it is so hot outside and the water feels sooooo good is at least a good portion of why I enjoy it as much as I do.

  • I LOVE swimming! I've been swimming 3-5 times a week since 20 weeks when I had to give up running. It's AMAZING. But I agree, getting out is tough. I can no longer pull myself out from the side of the pool like usual, I have to use the stairs now and even that is becoming challenging.

  • I mean, I did/do definitely enjoy it, I guess I just thought it'd feel better. Carrying around 40 extra pounds with pretty much constant hip/sciatica pain since early in my pregnancy, I just thought it'd be miraculous. :)

  • The pool membership my hubby surprised me with a month ago is THE BEST GIFT EVER!!

I feel so good, almost not pregnant.  LOL.  It is just so nice to feel so weightless and have all the stress off your hips and pelivs.  Wish we had done it sooner!!
