Pregnant after 35

It has been a week .. Micah's here!

Yes, you read right .. Micah Deon is here!  He was delivered on Tuesday by way of emergency C-Section due to my ridiculously high BP (196/126)!!

I had a feeling Monday it wouldn't be much longer, even though my OB was aiming for July 10th.  My Tuesday appts started with my Peri for the BPP scan .. everything looked great with the baby .. until the nurse checked my BP 196/126 (what?!).  She checked 3 more times with the lowest reading being 174/106 .. she called for the Peri to return to the room (who just happened to be talking with my OB in hallway .. ironic, huh?)

In a matter of a minute, the convo went from moving me to a observation room to admitting me to scheduling a C-Section at noon.  I was a total wreck, couldn't remember my husband's cell number, didn't know who to call at work .. a total mess.  Somehow I managed to rally the troops .. DH arrived first, followed by my Mom & ILs.

To say I was nervous is an understatement, I have never had any kind of surgery, so to have our scheduled noon OR appt pushed back sent my BP soaring again.  After about 2 hrs, Micah, who was tranverse, up high & snug as a bug was delivered feet first at 2:20 p.m.  He weighed in at 5lbs, 3ozs & 18 inches long & is pure perfection.

He was taken to NICU & put on oxygen to stablize his breathing, but kept pulling the tube out of his nose.  As of Thursday, he was breathing all on his own, maintaining his temp & eating up to an oz at each feeding.

Needless to say, I was discharged Friday without my lil man, who is scheduled to be discharged on Monday.

I know this is long, but I just wanted to let you ladies know that my lil man is here & doing great & I can't wait to have him home in my arms.
