Ventaire bottles leaking-

Please tell me i am not alone- I swear every time i use the ventaire bottles they leak. I am pumping into them because they are larger than my other bottles and it is a real pain at 6am to have a lapfull of breastmilk every now and then.

only the bottles with the plastic 'ring' at the bottom leaks- i have another ventaire bottle with a full circle of plastic- never leaks. is this common?

Re: Ventaire bottles leaking-

  • Leaked with me too! I still use them to pump into and transfer them into smaller quantities later.

  • Mine only leaked if I didn't press the little rubber disc in there completely. Don't know if that is the issue or not.

  • I dont get it- drives me insane. i push the rubber disk in, do a test run with water to check for leaks--- nothing. when i get up in the morning to pump breastmilk is all over my lap. GRRRR.

  • I used these and had the same problem. I called Playtex to complain. They said you have to completely disassemble the bottle when you clean. Water gets between the plastic ring and the bottom. I didnt realized their was a plastic ring.??I actually threw some of my bottles away b/c I thought they were defective? We started doing this & no problem.

Call playtex. They sent me coupons for free bottles.?

  • Yup same here, we had to replace the ring at the bottom on a couple. I guess thats why they come with extras. May not use these with our next baby.
  • i totally disassemble EVERY single time i wash them. it is completely annoying. i just might call playtex right now. it is extremely annoying. I am just kinda glad it wasn't me and i was doing something wrong.

  • I disassemble everytime as well.  I only seem to have a problem when I am really sleepy and don't assemble properly.  These are the only bottles my DS likes so I guess that's what I use :)
  • I'm having the same problems too and I completely disassemble. ?Now I use them as my last resort ?bottles.
  • Interesting that this is posted today as last night I just went to BRU and replaced all Ventaire with Dr. Browns.  I was so tired of the leaking!

  • You can't pump into the Ventaire bottles!   The one way valve at the bottom leaks under the suction pressure of the pump!   (I learned this the hard way, too...)

I have never had them leak from feeding.  Try just pumping into pump bottles or bags and then feeding from the Ventaire.

  • I used to have issues but I figured out also that you have to take out the ring when you are washing them. I haven't had a problem since.

Sometimes those rings get gross if you don't take them off and wash them.
