baby shower gift advice

i was invited to a shower. it's my fiance's good friend's fiance (does that make sense?). i don't really want to go because i have a huge issue with the fact that she has smoked weed all through her pregnancy. but i have to go :( i don't want to get anything expensive or that she won't need. help me with ideas because i have none. what was something inexpensive that you couldn't live without?

the mom to be is 19, having her first baby (it's a girl) and she will go back to work when  baby is born. dad to be is 25,this is his 2nd child (first girl) and this is the first he will have living with him as a newborn.

the shower is monday :(

    What about a white noise machine (like the sound spa?) - got ours at Wal-mart for about $20 I think.

    You could also do swaddlers, pacifiers, sleepers that zip, burp cloths, lovey blankets....hmmmm

    I love my WubbaNub (pacifier with doll on the end to help balance on the baby).  If you're creative or a sewer at all you could get blank onesies or burp cloths and put designs on them or sew ribbon on the burp cloths or embroider letters of the baby's name on them...I did this recently and it wasn't that hard or expensive.  I also like the stickers with months on them...don't know if they're easy to make with a good printer.  I found mine on etsy so probably couldn't buy them by Monday.
