Hi Ladies,
This is a super late birth annoucement! Anyway, we had a baby boy, Devin John on June 6. Long story short I was in labor for 37 hours I had the perfect natural birth I wanted all and all I didn?t think it was that bad, I think I freaked myself out more than anything! Anyways, the little guy made more than enough room getting out and I ended up needing emergency surgery, a spinal, pitocin (although I already had the baby they needed me to have contractions to get the pooling blood out), a catheter and IV after IV. I couldn?t get out of the hospital bed for two days since my blood pressure was so low (70/50) finally it came up and I fortunately didn?t need a blood transfusion. Apparently normal red blood cell levels are 40 and when I left the hospital mine was 17, so I lost a little over half my blood. The Dr. said it would take about two months to get back to normal. I was in the hospital for almost a week which sucked since my husband only had a week off which was pretty much spent there! I am feeling much better day by day. I have a constant headache but I guess that?s due to the low iron levels; in the end though it was all worth it. He is such a wonderful baby and I couldn?t be more in love with him! Hope everyone is adjusting to motherhood and although I didn?t have a lot of time to get onto the boards during my pregnancy, I always appreciated the words of wisdom you ladies had. Thanks for the support.
