(If I were on 9-12 I could accuse all the pickle haterz of being pickle-racist.)

  • Actually, a BF's dad introduced me to white bread, peanut butter, pickles and mayo sandwich.  I mean really, with that much fat and salt, how can you go wrong?  I haven't tried to make one myself, but it was good.

I used to like to dip sausage links into butter when I was a kid.

Have you heard of Fat Elvis cake?

It's chocolate banana bread layers with peanut butter/powdered surgar filling in between and chocolate fudge icing on top.   OMG. Talk about fat and lard and awesome sauce.

  • Pop corn and iced tea/lemonade.  Soda doesn't cut it.  It's not that crazy, but I get weird looks at the movie theater.

I don't like banana bread and I'm not fond of powdered sugar tastes...  That said, I'd still give it a try because it does sound just.that.awesome.

  • I have 2.  My personal one is peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a thin spread of mayo - adds that perfect tanginess. My grandpa used to make them :)

And then we have a local hole-in-the-wall restaurant that serves mexican/chinese/cajun food.  Teriyaki chicken quesadilla, anyone?

  • I like potato chips dipped in cottage cheese. My dad introduced me to that one. DH thought I was crazy until he finally tried it :)

Seasoned fries dipped in chocolate milkshake.

    mmmm.... agreed.

I will also add Fritos dipped in cottage cheese. Yum.

My weird combos as a kid were:  brown & serve sausage links on white bread with ketchup, or canned corned beef hash on white bread with miracle whip.  Gee, processed food much?  Yikes.

  • i don't do this anymore, but as a kid, i would take a piece of bread and squish it up into a tube (with finger bumps) and then dip it into orange juice. O_o

We used to have a Chinese/Soul Food/ BBQ/ raw oyster bar.

Apparently the Mrs was from China and the Mr was an old school southern cook whose brother was an oysterman. It was, surprisingly, quite good!

I can't believe someone else dips chips in cottage cheese - I'm oddly excited about this. I have no idea where my dad got the habit from to pass on to me, though.

  • At the movie theater, I get popcorn and then buy a side of nacho cheese and dip each kernel of corn in it...

  • Brown sugar sandwiches - not too weird, just brown sugar on bread, but very much a guilty pleasure.

And now a combo, but still odd - I used to like to eat ramen noodles raw, just the noodles.  They have just the right amount of crunch.

  • Love pickle roll-ups!! Apparently they are only popular in MN though ;)

Take a slice of ham, smear cream cheese on it and roll a pickle into it. Yum!!
