Back from DH's Dr appt...

He is now going to have vericocele surgery in July.  The doctor said point blank, your count is dropping very quickly, this is basically your only option.  He also said that if the count does go down to 0, he would still be able to harvest sperm so we could do IVF.  So at least we have that option, but hopefully it will work and we will be able to get pregnant without IVF.  So, I guess we are on hold for a little while.

    Wow, that's big news.  I hope all goes well in July, and that you don't have to go for IVF!

    I'm so sorry that his counts are going down!  I hope the surgery works for you guys.  I will keep you updated on my DH's next SA so you will know if it worked for us or not.  With our last SA I am guessing not, but maybe it was a fluke.  Also, just to let you know what to expect, I didn't think the surgery was as bad as we expected.  DH spent 3 days on the couch inclding the day of the surgery and went back to work on Thursday (had the surgery Monday).  I know DH did have pain, but he was able to walk around if needed.  I hope it goes well for you guys!  Feel free to ask me anything more about the procdure since we have been through it already.

    The Dr, did say that we shouldn't have any SA done before 4 months, they usually drop before they rebound, but everyone that gets them done at 3 months gets very nervous.  I am just saying what the Dr. said, and I have no proof with this, but heres to hoping that he is correct!!  I hope your hubbys next SA has rebounded again!!  Thanks for the information, and I appreciate your help!  I also want to say thanks to all the other well wishes!!

    Wow!  Thanks for telling me that.  That makes me feel so much better.  Our next one will be right at 3 months post surgery so this one we just had done was even earlier than that.  I guess we will hope and pray that your doctor is right.  If he is though, I wish someone would have told us that so that we didn't waste our insurance money (we have a $5000 limit on infertility) on medicated cycles during a time that his counts would be low following the surgery.
