We actually have the furniture set up already. I did this so we could see what we had and what we needed in regards to the room. Now that we know the sex of the baby we can start figuring out how we want to decorate.

We haven't purchased furniture yet. I've been looking a debating for weeks though! DH is anti buying furniture we've never seen in person and the stores seem to just carry 3-5 cribs and such.
We're moving next Friday (one week! yay!). The home we are buying has wall paper in the room we'll be using as a nursery . I'm also dying to start getting things set up. But I'm sure none of this will be happening until August or so.

We will start some time in late September/early October. My brother and his girlfriend plan to visit us in September and the guestroom will be turned into the nursery and I'd like them to sleep in there while they are here.
We have the "handy man" coming Monday to give us a quote on some finish work that we have yet to get to and with everything else I just don't think I will get to it. He is also going to paint for me. When we find out if its a boy or a girl then I will start thinking about the details such as furniture, bedding, and accessories. So - probably sometime in August.
Not until August/September we will be moving so no point in doing anything until then. I see no problem with you starting now though OP. Go with what makes you comfortable.
We need to paint first and DH wants to mount a small tv in the corner, and we are putting in a new ceiling fan. We plan to do those things over the summer, then start getting the furniture.
I have purchased all the furniture but haven't decorated yet. I want to have it all done by 7 months (october). You never know when these babies may wanna come out. Just want to be prepared.
The current furniture (desk, bed, etc) will come out of the nursery toward the end of July. We will probably set up nursery furniture more toward September or so (if then). Maybe mid-october.

I'm working out clearing out my craft/sewing room to make way for the baby. It is a mess so who knows how long it will take me. I'm hoping over the next few weeks I can get it taken care of. Then painting, and ceiling fan, and then I will start adding in things as I get them. I have decided on the big things regardless of sex of the baby, and will just personalize/make more specific when we find out what it is in August.
We haven't purchased any furniture yet, hoping to do that in the coming weeks. We are still remodeling the last spare bedroom so the nursery is a mess since it is used as a storage room right now, hoping to have that room done in the next week or so. Than we will start organzing! Can't wait...

Once we know the Gender I will start picking out everything for the nursery. When My DH comes home from deployment, He'll say yay or nay and then we'll get everything.. Im looking at Sep./Oct.
We'll do it in September. The ILs are coming over late August to visit and they will buy us the crib then. We are going to make an Ikea trip and after that will set the nursery up. We aren't going to paint so it will just be setting up the furniture and decorating.
I started before I was even pregnant. My mother had bought us a new crib and dresser/changing table before I was pregnant. We already have the room painted with new bamboo floors. We ordered the glider from La-z-boy last weekend, and I'm already planning the rest.
There's no such thing as "too soon" unless you're picking a gender-specific theme.
Our crib is not yet fully assembled, but the components are out of the box. I think DH will set it up this weekend or next.

Im kinda in denial still... I feel like when I find out the sex I will buy my first item, and thats not till 19 weeks. I really dont think we will purchase furniture until like 25 weeks lol.

I'm going to put the deposit on the crib this weekend- the store offers free layaway so I can pay over time. I'm dying to start picking out colors etc, the nursery had to be put on hold until we can get the first floor remodeled. It wasn't planned this way, but our refridgerator filter broke two weeks ago while we were out and it flooded our entire downstairs area. Luckily the weather stripping on the doors wasn't better- otherwise the water would have been a lot deeper than the 2 inches it was.
My DH and I were just talking about this last night. He won't be around much of my third trimester and we're heading back to the east coast at the end of Aug/ beg of Sept and that is most likely when I'll have my shower. I told him I'd like to have at least the crib set up and the room somewhat arranged (furniture wise) before we go east as he'll be leaving soon after we return from our trip. That way I can work on the little things and make it cute while he is away ...I just had the thought that it would be fun to start putting the crib together this weekend for Father's Day!

We have company staying with us over the last weekend in July--so we'll need the guest room one more time. As soon as that weekend ends, it's full steam ahead! There's a chance I'll go early with high bp, so I want everything ready to go. It's actually good for my anxiety that I know I can't start setting up until Aug 1.

We already started with the bare bones of the room - cleaning it out, painting, new flooring etc but have not purchased any big items. We do have a crib which was a hand-me-down from my SIL and BIL but we're not assembling it until the flooring is done. Once that is ready we'll probably buy things like a dresser and a shelf (stuff we can buy wherever and not need to register for) and save all the gendered stuff for the registry once we know the gender. I wanted to get an early start on it so that we don't end up halfway through third trimester with an unpainted room full of half-assembled furniture and boxes of baby stuff with no clear place to be stored.
our nursery still needs to be painted and we still need to buy an area rug (room is hardwoods). We already have a dresser in the room, but we haven't looked at cribs yet. We'll probably start doing all that soon after we find out the sex.
We've been slowly working on clearing our office furniture out of the room. Just have to finish everything this weekend and then we'll start the nursery in 2 weeks after we find out sex of baby.
We want the nursery done by October 1st. I want to be prepared in case baby comes early and DH might be gone for training for a good amount of time in August & September. so we'll get started on it right away.
We just moved in about a month ago and when we did, we through all of our extra boxes in the guest bedroom/nursery. We have been slowly working our way through those boxes. My sister is moving in next week for 6 weeks and once she is gone, we will start painting. We won't put up any nursery furniture until the beginning of the fall because we will have guests this summer and want them to have a decent place to stay.
We have so much work to do. We have to clean out the guest bedroom and store the furniture in the upstairs bedroom. I will also have to clean out the closet. After that is done we will install new carpet or hardwood flooring, install new trim (including chair-rail) and paint. We will probably be getting started on that in a few weeks. After we find out the gender (hopefully July 12th) we will start talking about furniture and decorations. Of course, I already have several things in mind.

We are turning our office into the nursery and moving the office stuff into the spare room. We actually started this weekend. My dad and DH are expanding the closet and putting a door in, then installing a ceiling fan. When that's finished DH will paint. My parents are going to buy our crib for us in the next few weeks and we'll buy the changing table at the same time. We're also getting my Nana's glider. All of that will go in as soon as the room is ready. I'm trying to talk DH into new flooring for the nursery too, but he's not into it.
I want to get everything done ASAP. I'm high risk and the OB/Peri have given me pretty strict instructions as far as taking it easy after 32 weeks (earlier if I have a problem). I obviously want to be involved in setting things up so I need to do it while I can.
IMO, it's not too early. You can take your time and adjust things as you need to.
We actually ordered our furniture and plan on having everything ready by October. The shower is at the end of October so I will have a place to put our new things.
