I think they are cute, but not practical.

I try and cover DD up as much as possible when in the sun. I wear a rash guard type top on her and a skirt bottom with sun protection. And a hat! She's so fair and blonde, I'm so scared she would burn.

IMO, the less skin showing on a baby the better!

Yep. I did until about age 2-3. It was just WAY WAY WAY easier for diaper changes. A wet one piece is a PAIN to pull on and off. Once she was potty trained and more active in the pool, a one piece was better, as it doesn't slide around like a bikini top does.

Now, she only wears one piece or a tankini. She prefers them, as do I because of how she is jumping in and out of teh pool and I don't have to remind her to adjust her top/bottoms.

IMO, a baby girl in a bikini is not sexualizing her. A baby cannot be sexual. Yes, I know others feel differently and there are always weirdos/pedophiles out there. But honestly, a weirdo/pedophile who finds a baby in a bikini sexual will find ANY outfit to be sexual. JMO.

yes, but more of a tankini - easier to change diapers with a 2 piece.

Until she is one she will be pretty covered up in the sun. After that i don't see a problem with a tankini, but nothing meant to be sexy. If it has a bra top it's out.

I never really thought much about it until DH declared that a daughter of his would never wear a bikini while living at home. I don't think I'd have a problem with it for babies and toddlers (although it doesn't seem too practical, like a PP mentioned), but I recently found myself judging a mom who showed me a picture of her 6-year-old daughter posing in a very tiny bikini. Having said that, I'm content to buy one-pieces for DD, with the exception of the adorable monokini that I bought for her to wear next summer:

i totally would for a picture!!! If we went to the beach she'd likely wear a sleeveless onsie, a big floppy hat, and tons of sun block! It's not like she's gonna swim!
