What do you use to clean your laminate flooring? Ours is supposed to be wood on the top, but still laminate. I'm guessing a swiffer type "mop" would be best? Is there a good real vaccum for hard floors?
I've always used my bissell steam mop on both hardwood and laminate (when we lived in FL). For hardwoods when I want a deap clean, I use Murphy's oil soap. For the laminate--just plain dish detergent is fine
First, I swiffer really well, then I use Bona Hardwood Floor cleaner spray and a microfiber cloth (Scotch brand, I think? I got it at Target- nothing special). We have hardwoods but my SIL has laminates and uses it too. You can buy it at Ace or I think Bed Bath & Beyond sells it now too. Seriously good stuff. My floors still look brand new and this is all I have ever done.
We use the Bona cleaner on our hardwoods and really like it. They make a Bona mop that is like the Swiffer WetJet and we use that. I think we got it at Lowes.
My cleaning lady in CT used green practices and taught me to clean the wood floors with vinegar. So at my house in Woodstock, that's all I used. They look brand new. People ALWAYS commented on how shiny my floors were and I seriously RARELY did more than spot clean them with vinegar.
Re: NBR: Laminate/Hardwood floor cleaners/vaccums
I use my dyson on "bare floor" mode to vacuum the floors.
I just use vinegar and water and a steam mop but we have regular hardwoods, I have never tried to clean laminate.
That would be... vinegar on the laminate floors. I have no idea what vinegar would do to raw wood floors.
Also, for a vacuum, I have an Electrolux ErgoRapido and its the best thing ever.
