I'm trying to figure out who/what I need to see as my OB for this
pregnancy. We live in the middle of no-where. I called the two local
(read 1 hour away) hospitals and neither of them handle triplet
pregnancies. My RE suggested one near them, in Albany, 2 hours away, but
I don't think they're covered by our insurance.
I'm just becoming rather overwhelmed with the doctor aspect. I have no idea what to look for or anything. I don't know if I could go see a regular OB and then if there are complications go to the specialist, or if I should just chalk up having to drive 2 hours for the specialist in Albany for each appt.

Re: Triplet mamas: Doctor questions.
Not a triplet mama but I am a NP in a OB/GYN office. You most definitely need to see a MFM. I would call your insurance and ask them for a list of who is covered under your plan, they may want a referral or something but that shouldn't be a problem.
Good luck and congrats again.

I was with a MFM for my entire pregnancy, never saw my OB. I agree with PP and check with insurance to see if there's someone reasonably close for you. I think I've heard of people having tandem appt's, the big ones with the MFM and routine ones with their OB so maybe you could work out something like that if it would make it easier for you travel wise.
GL, I'm excited to follow your progress.
