We go skiing/boarding in Colorado every winter and stay with my family there. There is a little mom-and-pop movie theater in the town, no credit cards accepted. They play a different movie each week with two evening showings. It's never the most recent movie and the seats are nothing spectacular, but it makes for a wonderful night. The hubs and I get our tickets, buy pop corn in a brown bag, get some iced tea, pet the resident pooch, and snuggle up for the movie. It's been our tradition since we were dating and we get to repeat it every year!

I suppose I'm a terrible romantic. The best dates for us were back in college when we were poor and imaginitive. We'd run out of grocery money and go snorkeling for lobsters from the beach and have lobsters and beer on the deck for dinner. (Sometimes, we'd catch a lobster and split a burger so it was poor-beach-bum-kids-surf-and-turf!) We'd scrimp our spare change to get one big piece of cheesecake and eat it on the beach. Thinking about it makes me smile.

A picnic on the beach with wine and just quiet time with my DH listening to the waves. Even better when the beach is deserted and we can have sexy time too...but not absolutely necessary. I just love the sand between my toes and the whole atmosphere. It makes me want to sell everything and move to an island somewhere...
Wasn't with my DH - he's awful at romanctic gestures and dates, he's working on it. I was a senior in high school and my bf was going to college in Texas. He made a surprise visit one weekend just to come see me. We spent the day at the beach, I got thrown into the ocean. Broke my toe and still went out for a nice dinner that night.
I don't know that I have anything overly wonderful (which is I think mainly due to my faulty memory). I will never forget the one and only date I went on with a college friend - we were driving, figuring out where we were going to go and got talking about our favorite pizzas, which were the same place - a Chicago chain... so, we decided to drive the 4 hours to my hometown and had pizza. Then we dropped by my parents and picked up my friend before we headed back to college. Loved it!
