How do I get DD to keep bows/clips/head bands in her hair

She rips them out as soon as I put them in but her hair is getting long, curly and out of control!!!

Re: How do I get DD to keep bows/clips/head bands in her hair

  • DD likes to do the same, but as im putting it in I usually try to distract her with something else, or when she tries to take it out, i ive her something else to play with....

its funny, cause i put a clip in her hair this morning and it lasted until about 1 min ago when i read your post I looked down and saw it on the floor next to me...lol....ahhh the joy of DDs

  • The only thing DD leaves in are the rubber bands that are no slip and look like colored plastic. I make sure they are in tight though.

  • Thanks... I have the plastic things. I will keep using them and stop fighting with the other accessories.

  • Ashley still doesn't have enough hair for any thing.  Some old man told us the other day that we had a fine looking young man....despite being covered in pink from head to toe....  :(

  • I don't think there's really any way to get them to keep them in. If they're used to them I think they're more likely to tolerate them but even my DD (who has had something in her hair almost every day since she was very small) pulls them out on occasion. Her hair is also long, curly and out of control so I can sympathize with you.

This! The ones I have are so tiny I can only get them around her pigtail twice, but it's tight enough she can't pull them out. Otherwise her hair hangs practically down to her mouth and my husband tells me we need to cut bangs :P

  • I put DD's hair in a high pony (think who-ville style from the Grinch) and then put the bow up there. As long as she doesn't see me put it in and she is otherwise distracted she does really good about leaving them alone.
