Abe just weaned three weeks ago and I'm still a little sad!
When he was about 11 months old he was going through a phase where he HATED the bath. I thought maybe it would make it better if I got in there with him. As soon as I sat down he crawled onto my lap and started nursing.
I love this post. We had the same this morning in the burrito household - I was in the shower, he starts crying, I get out and dry off and go to see what the fuss is; he's standing (too soon too soon too soon) in his crib, grabbing for me.
Note to self: do not approach bebe with no shirt; he will think the buffet is now open.
Ruby now understands that the boobs are under my shirt. She pulls the neckline of my tanks/shirts out as far as she can, while trying to head dive into my chest, and latches on whatever skin she can get in her mouth.

DH actually learned this the hard way when DD was a baby. He was shirtless, she was hungry, and she lunged for him. Ever heard a grown man squeal when he's in pain?
Re: How you know your child is not ready to give up the boob
1.) When you walk in the door and instead of yelling "mama!" they yell "nana, nana, nana." or "milk milk milk!"
2.) when you pick them up and they try to latch THROUGH your shirt.
3.)When you tell them no, they scream.
4.)When you hand them a bottle/cup of milk they throw it and scream more.
5.) Repeats steps 1-4 and cry until they hardly breath until there is a nipple in their mouth.
Ha ha!

Sadie almost causes a wardrobe malfunction for me just about everyday trying to get at my boobies.
