Clomid Questions

Backstory: I had a follow up appt. today to talk about infertility with my OB/GYN. At the last appt. she advised me to start charting regularly and we did some bloodwork. Today, she prescribed me Progesterone (I haven't had AF since the end of April...and it's been "wacky" on and off since last spring). I'll do another blood panel once AF starts after the Progesterone, but she mentioned Clomid if she doesn't see any ovulation this cycle.

Tell me about your Clomid experience. Side-effects? Feelings? How long were you on it? Just trying to get some background from ppl who've used it, as opposed to reading about it online and getting mixed reviews. TIA!

    The first time I took clomid, I got PG on the 2nd cycle and 3rd cycle using the lowest dose.  I had heard that if you take it at bedtime, the side effects are minimized.  I didn't really have (or notice) many of them.  The 2nd time I was on clomid, we jumped to 100 mg - - - got pg on something like cycle 3...and m/c'd.  Then I was bumped to the highest dose (150 I think) and we moved on to IUIs.  I didn't get PG any of the 6 cycles we were on the highest dose. We had unexplained fertility but leaning more towards issues with my DH. I responded perfectly to clomid (in terms of egg production).  No bad side effects other than moodiness (which I think I was moody already due to the stress of it all) and a hot flash every now and then.

    I will be starting my second round of clomid in a couple weeks. This first round at 50mg didn't work for us unfortunately...so now I've been upped to 100mg. I did notice my temps were way more normal looking for the middle of my cycle, but no spike in temp. I did not have any side effects at the lowest dosage, and actually took mine in the morning. Here's hoping I have no side effects at the next dosage also...good luck to you!

    I have taken Clomid 3x and I took it @ night. Obviously it did not work. I was moody too (which had its ups and downs).

    Also, is the OB/GYN prescribing this to you or an RE? I am just would be leering of getting it from an OB/GYN as the RE can monitor you while you take it. I am not trying to scare you, it is what I have learned from some of the other boards (T-TTC and IF boards, specifically).

    I did four rounds of Clomid and responded beautifully, but did not get PG (I ended up getting PG with Femara.)

    I got most of the common s/e - hot flashes, headaches, moodiness etc.  I noticed the s/e got worse and lasted longer with each consecutive cycle because of the residual medication from the cycle before.  Taking it at night did help minimizing it though.
