I'm trying to remember from Nicholas, but I can't. he used to take a nap at 6pm. it was a short one- maybe 30 minutes. Ava takes a short nap anywhere between 5:30 and 6. Just curious to see when she'll drop that last nap.

At 5 months, my twins were taking a catnap around 6, then going to bed at 9 or 9:30. Sometime between month 5 and 6, they moved to the 2-3-4 routine:
Wake at 8
Nap 2 hours after that at 10
Nap 2-3 hours after they wake from that nap
Then bedtime 4 hours after they wake from that.
Wow I like that schedule Did the boys just fall into it?. My favorite is the "wake at 8" part. I'm hoping this is Ava come August/Sept when she's 5-6 months.

DS1 never really had that late nap, and DS2 is still taking it! That's not helpful, I know... I'd really like him to drop it, too, but so far, he NEEDS it. On occasion he doesn't get it because we're out (like on weekends), but he's a mess when he doesn't.
He's also a 12 hour night sleeper (roughly 8-8), but he wakes up several times during the night. And the quality of the naps are all over the place, but generally not so great. I think if he could manage to take longer naps, he'd drop the late catnap.
Re: When did your LO drop that late afternoon/early evening nap?
Oh and her bedtime is 8:00, 8:30 if that makes a difference.

I encouraged that routine because it is what my daughter did, and it seemed natural for them as well.
They sleep 12-13 hours straight at night, but nap HORRIBLY. But I'll take it - because yes, the 8 AM wake up call suits me just fine.
Wow 12-13 hours. What a dream.
