help!car seats for compact cars

I have a scion XA and am having trouble finding a carseat that fits in the back without having to push both seats all the way up, has anyone else had this problem?And what carseat worked for you?

    Not sure as far as infant car seats go, but by the time you get to convertible carseats you should look up the Cosco Scenera. It's very compact, but it's a great seat. Both my mother and grandmother have them and I love them.

    I have a vw beetle and I'm having the same issues with space. The base fits okay in the backseat, but I'm afraid to see the room we are going to have when the car-seat is in place!

    Does the US have the Maxi Cosi brand?  Here in England, and most of Europe, the Maxi Cosi seems to be the smallest.  We just bought a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix last week for us.

    We had a two door acura rsx, tiny sports car.  The infant seat we used was the Chicco Keyfit 30.  It fit behind the passenger seat.  The seat did have to be pulled all the way forward though.

    Maxi cosi micro is the seat that you want.

    We have the Cabriofix (also live in Europe) and they have amazing safety and great reviews.

    Had the same problem w/ my VW, and tried the usuals that ppl say fit in smaller cars at BRU.... But we got the Cybex Aton, it's a European seat that just was released to the US about a month ago. Has great reviews, & even my 6'1" husband can use the front seat with the car seat behind him!!  Not to mention since none of the BRU carry Maxi Cosi in store, I wasn't comfortable ordering one I couldn't try out ahead of time.. And BRU does carry the Cybex, so we were able to see it before buying.

    We have a Honda Fit and bought the Graco Snugride 30.  It's behind the passenger seat to allow the driver as much flexibility and to save MH sore back.  We have to keep the passenger seat almost fully forward though.  It also fits well in the back center of our 14 yr old Honda Civic.
