Washington Babies

Fingers crossed we are off nursing to sleep!

Yes We fell into nursing to sleep at some point but with DD's 1st bday coming up I plan to try with baby led weaning.  So I am planning a head to cut out nursing to sleep so weaning isn't as tragic to DD .  We have 2 nights in a row with no nursing to sleep & no big drama. Big Smile  Happy dance!

  • How is that baby led weaning?  I'm confused.

Anyway, good work on making a change easily.  I'm stuck nursing at nap and bedtimes still and I really really want to be done!

I am preparing for baby led weaning. I am still nursing DD before bed just not right before bed.  I nurse her in a light room sitting up.  Then go get her really for bed snuggle with a book then put her in her crib. She fusses a few minutes then plays.  In a half of hour she is a sleep. :-)

PS.  I should add that we are still doing the middle of the night nurse if she wakes up.  One step at a time. :-)

  • I always thought baby led weaning was about how you introduced solid foods... that's why I was confused.

  • Good job Mama! I would LOVE to stop the nursing to sleep, but DD is such a crappy sleeper that I'm way scared to stop!
