DD has eczema, but what works for her isn't working for DS.
I use free & clear everything, Cetaphil for baths, Aveeno cream or Aquaphor morning/night.
Our pedi gave us a low dose hydrocortisone for flare ups. We've only used it twice, and it knocks the rash right down, but it comes back a week later.
What are you doing? Is it working?
DD had a whole host of food allergies, but she also had a lot of symptoms - fussy, vomting, trouble gaining weight, mucus and blood in her stools. DS has nothing but the eczema.
Re: Any other babies with eczema?
DS had very bad eczema. This is what the pedi derm told us. No Aveeno anything! Unscented Dove bar soap, L'Oreal sulfate free shampoo, and CeraVe lotion. We also use 0.1 Triamcynalone for flare ups. I was using California Baby sunscreen, but he started to react. We haven't had a problem with Neutrogena Wet Spray. It has gotten better as he has gotten older.
We found out at age two that he had food allergies...peanuts, tree nuts, chicken, and eggs. He never had any gastrointestinal symptoms, only the rashes. If you FF, I would talk to the dr about changing formula. If you BF, try cutting back on some of the common allergens. DS's eczema got much better after we cut out chicken when he was diagnosed, but this also coincided with winter. Spring has left him with a lot of rough skin, but none of the specific rash patches.
Good luck. It sucks...all of the scratching and people asking what happened to his face.
