I went to my Dr's appt on Fri and they had a note up that they aren't delivering babies anymore after March 2012. I was kinda bummed! I know many of us go there so I figured I let everyone know!!

What?! Why? Did they say anything while you were there?

Obviously not pregnant right now, and might not be in the future, but if we do have a second, I'm sad that I'll have to go elsewhere

No nothing was said but on the note it said they want to focus on other womens issues and get them more attention or something like that! I think when I go next week I'll ask y and see what they say! I'll let u know if I find out anything else. My guess is probably the liability issues and insurance costs but thats just a guess!

I just called, because I had to know - the woman I talked to said that it had a lot to do with the malpractice insurance rates skyrocketing, but also because the doctors' kids were getting older and they wanted to be able to spend more time with them.

Even though there's no certainty that I'll have another baby, I'm just so sad at the thought of having to leave the fantastic OBs and MWs there

I know, I was really disappointed also. I saw this at my appointment last week. Even though I don't plan to have a 2nd baby right away, I hate to leave. I probably will to start a relationship with another group of providers though.

I just went in on Tuesday for an appointment and saw Dr. Hansel. She told me that after doing this for 20+ years she was just tired and wanted to start slowing down.
