I have to make a connection tomorrow at Atlanta and I'm freaked out about possibly having to go through a body scanner. I know you can ask for a pat down but I've heard firsthand stories where pregnant women have been refused them and forced to go through the scanner anyway. Does anyone know if Atlanta is using these? Or had any recent experiences there, either positive or negative?

"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
I haven't flown in Atlanta, but we have the same body scanners in San Antonio. I flew when I was 7 months pregnant and just told the TSA agent I was pregnant and that I preferred to be patted down than to do the body scan. They waved me around and I waited at the other side for an agent. They told me to go on and didn't bother with the pat down.
Personally, I was ok with the idea of being patted down. But I know that is a problem for some people (it was a huge issue here in SA when they installed the body scanners with people complaining)
