TTC After a Loss

Question about Luteal Phase?

My first cycle after my m/c I O on day 19 and 20, had +OPK's both days. Then got AF on day 36, 16 DPO. My second cycle, last month I O on day 18, and got my period 15DPO. It was a 33 day cycle.

So my third cycle, we started TTC again. I O on day 15 this time, had +OPK's all day. But I did not use OPK's the day before or the day after due to being busy and didnt think it really mattered. And I didnt on day 14 because I wasnt expecting to O that early. We bded on day 15 and 16 and 17, but not day 14.So I am currently 14DPO and have had BFN's every morning all week.

So my question is I still do not have AF. Do I go by how many DPO O to detect when it will arrive?  Or cycle length? We were just really hoping for a BFP this month. It was so easy to get pregnant before our m/c. Could it possibly be due to having a D&C that it is harder for it to implant. Because I swore starting at 6 DPO I had mild cramping every day like I did when I got my BFP with my loss.

Hope you understand what I am asking. Thanks for listening. Sorry so long!!

Re: Question about Luteal Phase?

  • your LP is really the only constant in your cycle... so if its been at 15 & 16 DPO the last 2 cycles, and your 14DPO now... it would mean either tomorrow or Saturday is when AF should show...

    What HPT's are you using?

  • Unfortunately you'll just have to wait and see. If you HPT isn't sensitive enough you may be testing too early. Keep testing until BFP or AF.

  • Thanks ladies that helps. I am using the Wondof HPT b/c they are so cheap. I did buy some FRER too just in case and it was negative yesterday morning.

So the OPT's only detect when you are about to O then. I guess I was wrong on that. And no I do not chart. I am thinking about it now though, especially if this cycle ends up being a bust.

The Wondfo HPTS are really sensitive... But OPKs detect the LH surge which happens prior to Ovulation... most kits will tell you 12-36 hours after a + OPK is the most likely time that women will O...

First of all, are you charting? OPKs just tell you when your body is gearing up to O, not when/if you actually O. Most people get a +OPK a day or two before they actually O, so I'm guessing you're probably not as many DPO as you think. LP is usually pretty constant, but without charting you can't know how long your LP actually is. Unfortunately, only time will tell. I would wait a few days before testing again.

I would say same, although I have gotten CH's the last 2 cycles with a +OPK but could have been what point in my surge it was....  GL!
