Of course it is Thursday and I haven't come up with a gift for Father's Day. His work has given him the two things I had been considering - a kindle and an ipad. He pulled the ipad out after last Friday when he got home from a business trip. GRRR!
DH fairly frugal so he doesn't like to receive anything too extravagent or expensive. He also does not seem all that impressed with crafts from the kids, plus they are already making him gifts at school.
He is a sales manager and is on the road all the time, so he doesn't have an office to display pictures or other sentimental things of the kids.
He could use some clothes but I don't really have time to go shopping before Sunday rolls around. A few weeks ago I suggested we do a family day at the Potomac Nationals game on Father's Day because it is close by, not expensive and he loves baseball. His response was kind of meh..."it will probably be too crowded on Father's Day".
I am seriously at a loss. I almost always am when it comes to gifts for him, which sucks because his gifts for me always involve a lot of thought and are really good.
HELP! Any ideas?
Re: I suck at finding gifts for DH
I am in the same boat, but throw in that tomorrow is DH's birthday as well!
About a month ago we bought him some more suits. He needed them because he's been going to more meetings at work. So he told me not to get him anything because we spent the money on his suits.
Does he like music or live performances? DH & I both like Mama Mia, so I think I'll get tickets for the performance at Wolf Trap next month.
Do you guys have a lawn? What about a lawn service for at least a week or two?
Golf or any other sporting activities? You can get him a gift cert to a course or something?
I am not much help since DH will just get a card from the kids and breakfast this year. I asked him what he wanted and even for breakfast he was dragging his feet and all 'whatever is fine'.
are we married to the same man?!
I specifically told him after our anniversary that he needs to make more statements that go "I really like [insert product name here]" or "I've always wanted a [insert another product name here]". I do this all the time "Oh, I love the new line of purses from Marc by Marc Jacobs at Nordstrom!" or "I've always wanted a gift certificate for a spa day including a chemical peel!" See how easy that is??!!
I was actually kind of excited because my H told me that we need a new leaf blower. But last week, he was like "nah, I don't want that as a present and I want to do all the research to find one with a bunch of features I like" And technically I could get him a gift card for Home Depot or Sears, but since I don't work, I'm just taking money out of our joint account so he can buy something we need...not all that thoughtful or unique, you know? Ugh.
The only thing I have come up with is that DH just got a new job 2 months ago and was saying that he needed some new pictures for the walls of his office. So I'm going to go buy some nice frames and frame a couple pieces of Warner's art for his office. Also, I took a great picture of Warner, DH and FIL a couple weeks ago and I'm going to frame that for him.
men are so hard to buy for! my husband also did the "oh, whatever." He is getting a frame from etsy with a bike chain in-laid in the wood (he

(except 'daddy' is big & bolded so that from afar it looks like it says Loves daddy). I'm also making him bacon pancakes for breakfast & steak sandwiches (his favorite lunch ever) for lunch.
Does he have any hobbies?
