? about allergy meds and ttc

in TTC After a Loss

I've been fortunate enough in my past pg's to not have to worry about what would be "safe" to take while TTC, since they didn't happen during allergy season.  Do any of you know of any negative effects of taking Claritin while ttc?  I heard benedryl can dry up CM, etc.  but wasn't sure if Claritin or Zyrtec would fall into the same catagory.

TIA for any advice!

    I have terrible seasonal allergies! My OB told me that while both Claritin and Zyrtec are "safe" to take while TTC, he did mention a decrease in CM as a side effect for some women. I am on the north shore (swampscott), are you still feeling the seasonal allergies? I am finally starting to feel better...

    My allergies have been driving me crazy today.  I am hoping they will ease up soon.  My car was covered in pollen this morning which I guess triggered today.  I'm on the S. Shore btw  =)  Thanks so much for your response.

    When I found out I was pg. I was told to take claritin. I never stopped after my loss so I wouldn't have to change again when I get pg.

    I heard about possible decreased CM as well, no need to modify meds. while TTC.... once you get a BFP the "d" medicines should be avoided (and my Dr. reduces the amount in my monthly shots as a precaution as well)

    Both are fine to take. If you are worried about CM add some green tea into your day.

    I used nasal sprays before I was pg and the ENT said they were all class C so I stopped. Now that I'm ttc I'm back to no nasal sprays except saline sprays, my beloved nettipot and my allergy shots.
