larger chested ladies: please rec your nursing bra

Sorry if this is a very common question/request. I checked back 4 pages and didn't see it. I never did find a nursing bra that I really loved with DD and eventually ended up going back to my regular bras in a bigger size, which wasn't ideal for nursing. TIA for your advice!

Re: larger chested ladies: please rec your nursing bra

  • I bought one by Anita, very comfy and not cheap. I think they ranged from $65 and up. I bought them at creativewoman.com. I ended up going to Lane Bryant for their nursing bras (sports bra type) and very comfy.

  • I got up to a H with DD #1 and the only place i found comfotable was Motherhood..it was 8yrs ago and I don't remeber the $$ but it was worth it, very supportvie, yet easy to use as well.

  • I wear a 34H or I, and I have to have an underwire. I bought an Elomi, it's amazing.

I also liked the Anitas, the support was great, but the cups weren't full enough for me.

    www.breakoutbras.com has a great selection.

  • I'm a 36H and I ended up getting one of my favourite bras tailored, and having nursing clips and straps put in, since I couldn't find a nursing bra that was underwire and a formed cup. I found that nursing bras just made me look wider and weren't really supportive. It's not a lot to get a bra altered, and it's totally worth it.

  • For me cost is a big issue, so it limited my choices.

I love these:  https://www.destinationmaternity.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=982520361&MasterCategory_Id=MC29  that I got from destination maternity.  They also have several similar bras in non-plus sizes that you could check out.  They frequently have sales (in fact it looks like they're having a good one right now!).  Hope this helps!

PS. A note on this specific bra:  they tend to run small (as noticed by me and other reviewers) go up at least one band size from what you normally wear.
