Ugh. We had issues last summer with bedtime... not sure if they're comparable or not to the mind of a 3 year old.
We wound up putting a child proof lock on the inside of his room. When he learned how to get that off, we thought about turning the lock, but he settled into a routine and didn't need to. Hopefully we won't have to go there. He fell asleep on the floor a few nights and then finally decided to sleep in his bed. It took ~2-3 weeks... this too shall pass. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
Not sure what you have in Maggie's bed, but B absolutely loves to "play" with cars in his bed (lights out, roll cars for 2 minutes and then he's zonked). It does seem to help.
