So we had a long heart-to-heart and decided on a new plan. I don't know why but I've been dealing with a lot of the doc visits, diagnoses, etc. myself. He's been stressed at work, and I know this is illogical, but I know it's my fault, and I didn't want to add to his stress. Anyhow, I've been feeling bummed, scared about the HSG (wimpy I know), and watching one friend after another get K/U easily.
So I started tearing up at dinner last night and then everything came out (my fears, the reality of these diagnoses, etc.). I really wished we would have had this long talk sooner. He was 100% supportive, and behind me in whatever decisions I want to make, and helpful, and open. I am nervous about IVF because of the finances. We both have amazing interesting jobs but they are not high paying. IVF will be OOP and we will have to delay saving to buy a house again. It will just add to our car payment, student loans, and credit card bills (ugh!).
Anyway, our new plan is 1) HSG 2) Femara/Injectables/TI 3) Femara/Injectables/IUI 4) Injectables/IUI 5) IVF with a financed multi-plan cycle. We'll have break cycles and vacations in between...
We are both open to adoption and will consider this later on down the road because we'd love to bring a child into a good home.
I am also scared of injectables which I know I need to get over, but he said, "Don't worry baby, I'll shoot you up in the butt." So we are on board as a unit...and somehow I feel peaceful again.
I guess I just wanted to share...thanks for being here, ladies.
Re: Talked over our treatment and life plans with DH last night
Not to be a downer but most IVF with a financed multi-plan cycle have age restrictions so factor that into the mix. Better to research it now than be surprised later that you can't qualify for it. For example, my RE has a 3 IVF cycle package but you have to be under 38 to get it.
This entire IF thing sucks big time.
ETA: just saw in your siggy that you are 35. Should be good for a multi cycle plan then!

Thanks for the info. MccIrish. That is not a downer. I know all of these things have restrictions and my failed Clomid Challenge might also be a problem. I think it's good to have all of the information at hand.
It does suck - there's no doubting. When your SO has to stick you in the butt to try and get pregnant, there is just something wrong about that. I hope we are all stronger for it in the end.

Hi Solar,
I'm glad you and your DH are operating as a team with a mission and plan. IF is overwhelming, and feeling like you're facing it alone only makes it more so.
And, you're not a wimp. I was anxious about my HSG, and am starting to get a little nervous about having DH give me shots - I mean he can be pretty clumsy with his giant hands!
Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm glad you guys had it out. Holding all of the crazy worry inside and taking it all on yourself isn't right.
I feel like my DH and I need to have check-ins every once in a while, to make sure we're still both on board for all of this. He tries to keep me from worrying, and I try to make sure he feels like part of the process.
And it's a good man who agrees to give you a shot in the butt! Sounds like you have a keeper.
