my understanding is that it's the 1 year mark. i would have loved to give DS a lovey to have with him during ferberizing, but the pedi says it isn't safe to have anything in the crib under 1 year.
I always read and was told a year. But we caved and let her have it at around 11ish months. We checked on her constantly at first, until we were confident she wasn't smothering herself with it.
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
We caved way earlier then a year.. I think 7mths.. He has a big baby blanket that he loves and he also has a small stuffed animal and his seahorse in his crib..
I answered this in the other post, but probably around 6 months adjusted (so 10 months actual...). He sleeps with a small security blanket with a monkey head. He holds it/sucks on it to fall asleep, but then it usually ends up under his body when he rolls to his belly, or on the other side of the crib. If I ever see it near his face, I move it too.

DD has had a lovey since day 1. DS gave it to her in the hospital. She didn't really start sleeping and snuggling it until maybe 4 months old when I put her in her crib. when they are old enough to move something away from their face they can have a lovey. DD has had a wide knit blanket since she was unswaddled at 7 months.
In her bed is a small padded mirror, glow worm, lovey, 3 pacifiers and her blanket.

Re: When Can You Allow Blankets/Stuffed Toys in Cribs?
Because we're fancy like that.
That is one of the things that I a SUPER paranoid about.
Caroline still has nothing in her crib...no pillow, no blanket, no lovey, no nothing.
I am waiting on the 2 year mark. Call me crazy...I don't care, I am just way paranoid about that.
